Best wax for Black SS??
Fixing to throw a bitching detail job on the SS, and wanted to know a very good wax/polish for this color? It does have the typical swirl and imperfections. Guide me fellas.... Guide me!!

wax
i always use THE WAX SHOP wax because it is clear and leaves no white residue. it is also ultra easy to work with as well.

For the money, Meguiars NXT generation is damn good. Gotta use it at like 8-9pm outside so you can see where you need to rub a bit more but, it works real well for me.
I use the spray detailer of this also and that works real well too.

I realize this thread is a little over a week old, but have you ever tried Zaino? I'm a perfectionist when it comes to paint/detailing/etc...and I have never found a wax that worked as well or did as good a job as Zaino. One of my friends has a black SS and runs a premium detailing business, and he uses Zaino on his cars and the cars he details.

Not mequiars. Not turtle wax. Not anything you can buy at AutoZone.
You asked what is the best...not the best for cheap.
Pinnacle Souveran
Victoria's Red (what I use)
Wax and polish are completely different things.

Meguires NXT 2.0.
I've tried lots of different waxes, and its by far my favorite. Its relatively inexpensive, very easy to use, gives an awesome shine, and its very durable in terms of how long it lasts.
I think the Turtle Wax ICE is garbage. Its petroleum based, so its very oily (almost like armor all) and it doesn't seem to last worth a damn.

Meguiars 3 Step System shines just as good if not better than the high $$$ stuff

I used to use the Meguiars 3 step.
Tried the NXT (not 2.0).
I won't use anything Meguiars on my cars ever again after using the higher end stuff.

NXT and ICE are junk. I agree with Luos, anything you buy at the store will not equal what higher end detail online stores like Autogeek.net sell. I use Pinnacle products myself right now. Going with the Menzerna next time.

I own my own detail shop.So i'm not just blabbing at the mouth. Not that it makes me the end all that ends all.No wax will look its best if the surface is not prepared properly. And I will put nxt 2.0 as a lsp against ANY product on the market including the higher end waxes.Sovereign and natty's are still lower end waxes by the way.Autogeek also sells megs along with sov and wolfgang which goes for $1500 a can.Not trying to get anything started just wanted to insert my two cents. There's so much more than just the wax you use. To get a true show car finish.I'd be willing to explain further if necessary.
