    Lightbulb Making an educated buy.

Okay saw this burnt orange? Color on autotrader is it burnt orange or SOM? Also, i've narrowed my choice down to 4 cars, any suggestions? the last 2 have been there for a few months so those kinda give me the iffys.

here's the "burnt orange" transam manual new entry 92,909 miles askin price $9,950. This car looks nice but its 350 miles from where i live .
    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=356

here's the black 2002 automatic ws6 102,000 miles askin price $10,900 w/ multiple clear coat blemishes. (fairly new entry) somebody told me this 1 had a shady carfax car registered to flood zone county.
    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=217

black manual 2000 ws6 107,000 miles askin price 11,500 (old entry)
    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=202

black manual 2000 transam 108,000 miles askin price, 11,700 (old entry)
    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=208

Black automatic 1998 ws6 (dealer listed it as a formula) 92,125 miles, askin price $8,988. This car looks shady, the inside looks like somebody pissed all over it, and who wants to buy a car thats 10 years old...dunno, the fact that the dealer mislabeled the car looks kinda funny to me. Thanks to you guys i know alittle bit about what to look for when it comes to distinguishing the ws6 from a nonws6, on this 1 you can clearly see the ws6 tag on the back.
    http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=213

Hah, and here's a gold one, thought it was note worthy, i'd never buy it, just its the first one i've seen.

Also, i'm a rookie with the ole manual transmission, i'd like the gas milage of the manual as odds to the auto...but certainly don't want the traffic pressure issues an inexperienced manual driver would have...and the possible car maintenance issues, mis-shifting. They rent out little manual nissan trucks here, that i've been tryin out the skills on, i'm okay once i get outta first, the gears are pretty sticky to get into....blah, so ya thats definately a consideration. I know to get that real sports car feel you gotta get a manual, but i'm not to sure if its worth the risk.

I'd probably pop the clutch driving away on my first test-drive...hah wouldn't that be embarassing.
Go big or go home right? So, i'm really pushing for a ws6.

The manual F-bodies are very easy to drive compared to most cars. The power makes it really hard to choke one off. You'd roast the tires if anything. I only snubbed mine off once because I was looking at a chick on the side walk and did see the light was green until someone honked at me and I just let the clutch out without touching the gas. That was a bit embarrassing.

Is the first one SOM? It doesn't look like it...actually looks like Burnt Orange...like that color that Chevy Trucks can come in.

heh, along with 2 tanks of gas.

oh, i'm kinda partial to black, the SOM looks nice, err or burnt orange...whatever it is, but its really a day-time driver color...doesn't really give the reflection flash...as black would at nite...or during the day.

Man, that SOM WS6 is a steal and a half if it is in good condition, I would deffinatly be on my way to check it out in person if I was in the market. Run a car fax and jump on it!!! I dont think that car will be around long for only 10k. Its already got a strut bar and SLP lid, it probably has some other stuff too. Dont let the maual scare you, real race cars have three pedals

I just noticed those strut towers are black. My car is white and my strut towers are white. I wonder if those should be body color on the SOM as well. This could be a "color-changed repaint" which could mean accident history, who knows

Good catch! Looks like the door badges are gone too. I'm going to guess on a re-paint. Def, get a carfax and make sure you look it over very carefully on a lift.

hey, thanks for the advice, i was leaning towards car #2, since its a ws6 for sure, and its auto...i could probably spend 1k and get the car repainted, to take care of the clear coat blemishes...its just the whole manual vs. auto sports car.

1st one looks like the best deal. Just get rid of the rims first thing. They look like 4 spares
