touchless doesn't do shit. my friend and i went through one in his car. afterwards, there was still dust on it. and it seemed very powerful. also, the wax those use is crap and will protect your paint for like a week, if that.

I didn't know there was another option other than hand washing...that is, if you want your car to look good and not get jacked up by high pressure water.

car wash
i know this might sound crazy but i dont wash my cars ever. but i also dont drive them very much and never in the rain. if i drive one as soon as i get back to the house it gets the cali duster and then i go over it with some quick detail with a new microfiber towel every time. and then back in the garage with the cover on.
my cars havent seen water since i've owned them. i know this doesnt work for everybody but thats how i do it and have been doin it that way for years now. its nice when everytime i go to drive one of my cars i pull the cover off and go ride in my fresh clean car.

My car gets a good hand wash almost every other week depending on how dirty it gets which is only if it rains really.
In between the automatic touchless work just fine. Its when you let it get real dirty and then go to those that they leave dust all over it still.
The dust a Cali duster will get off will come off with the touchless
I don't waste money on the wax and stuff..
Also you guys with DD. How do you not due an undercarriage every now and then? I like to keep under the car as clean as I can. Makes doing any work down there much more pleasant.

Hand wash once a week. About 90 miles a week put on now with my new DD. I usually wax once every two weeks. Next time, I am stripping the wax and then using a clay bar then a good coat of wax.

I handwash it no matter what. I would rather it be dirty than to take it through ANY type of automatic carwash! Not to mention, once I've finished washing/detailing/waxing/etc the car, I can't take my eyes off of it & I'm a grinning fool lmao...
