NEXEN Tires?
I just got a couple of quotes on new tires for my SS.
They ranged from 300$ per tire to 85$ per tire....GW tax rebate wont cover the 300 a tire! the care is my DD...about 20k a year..have some DAYTON's on her now and they work great..with 40k miles on them got me a 13.5 @ 106
The 85$ ones look pretty good right now but i have never heard of them before...call NEXEN the tire is a 275 40 17 -N5000
anyone had any experience with them? - thanks...

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
I have a set on a '96 Dodge Ram Ext. Cab. I was going to buy a set of Kuhmo's at a local dealer I trust and he recommended I try the Nexen's. He even guaranteed me that if I didn't like 'em, he would install another type on the truck at no charge (and he would do it).
The tires are very quiet compared to the General Grabbers I had on it. Great ride. Smooth and they track well. Only about 5000 of wear to date, so longevity isn't something I can attest to. They hold air well and took very little weight to balance. Traction is good, especially in wet conditions, compared to the Grabbers, but we only had the lightest of snow last winter so I can't give you a winter review.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for a truck. I would guess their passenger car versions would be similar in quality and value.

I had nexen tires on mine and they sucked. They are cheaply made tires the sidewall is flimsy and there are nothing to them. I had one blow out on me :/.. IMO tires arnt the thing to cheap out on. IN addition, my car was aligned with them on and the car seemed to pull to whatever side the bump was on. Once I switched my tires I was fine and didn't have the problem. I am not a tire expert by any means but I will never buy nexens again.

I will be purchasing 4 Nexen tires tonight. I will be the test and report my findings. I will go with the N3000. They are a ZR rated tire and $75 a piece for 275/40/17.

Got them. The make a little more noise than the F1'S. They handle good and drive well in the rain. (poored on my way home) For $300 for all 4 is not a bad deal. They even look good.

i agree with J1211C. i've been working with tires for the last 4 years, and nexen tires are relatively new to our stores out here in michigan. for something that size, and if you want the performance, its definitely not something to cheap out on. they can get pricey, i will say, but something in the 110-150 per tire really isnt that bad for that size. PM me if you want a few recommendations. as for the riken raptors....we put some on a dudes car....he was back the next day 'cuz it exploded. ripped the sidewall clean off the tire, and nothing punctured it. they are made my BFG i believe, but they are still cheaply made.
