    task manager, processes

    is there a free program out there that will cut down processes that are not needed/shouldn't be running???

    my work PC kills me... i got the PC of an empoyee that was fired a few months before i got promoted... all kinds of crap on here...

    You don't need a program to do that. Just select and click "End process" for which ever processes aren't needed.

    As for which ones you don't need, I believe there are many websites out there that list only the needed/necessary/system processes so you can kill all the others. It might even tell you if a certain process is malicious or not.

    That should help get back the precious system resources that Windows eats up so greedily.

    that is the problem... my work computer has many functions taht i have no idea about...

    no live chat here at work... all them programs are blocked from usage... we ahd a few people screwing around with them when they should have been working...

    just remove the programs that are not needed.........there are programs out there to suit your needs I will ck and see if I can find you a freebie you can download

    poop... i already did most of that... what really pisses me off is i have to go through windows explorer to do most of that cause the add/remove function completely blows ass...

    go to add remove programs get rid of all the shit you don't need.

    Then got to start-run- and type in MSCONFIG

    click the startup tab on the far right
    uncheck all of the programs you know what they are. Stuff like qtask for quick time ect....

    damn... i did that... i went to an identicle computer and looked at some shit on that one... oh.. my.. god....... i have like 631268734137415743 window key roots on min and thiers had like 150 or so... looks like my anti virus shit isn't so anti virus... i can't wait untill tomorrow to dive a bit deeper...
