If you have access to a smoke machine I'd just verify it. Judging by your vacuum reading I'd say you're right though. None of your MAF wires are pinched or anything like that are they?
The MAF is installed facing the right direction? Always rule out the simple things first....

I really am kinda nervous going with the speed density tune since I drive my car year round from 95 degrees to 30 degrees. I am not sure how much it is going to effect performance. I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone.

No pinched wires and they have been tested.

Everything we have tuned that way doesn't seem to have any problems with year round drivability that I've seen

Yup, MAF is installed correct. I even tried rotating it as I have heard of 98's running a little better after they have been turned 90 degrees, but I am not sure why that is

Then what is the downfall. There has to be something since the MAF has a purpose

A MAF tune might get ya an extra couple ponies since its seeing the air flow in. PhillyLS1 went to Florida in his with a 2 Bar tune and averaging 85-110 mph the way down got around 26-28 mpg

I run a SD tune and have for a long time on multiple cars. Huge difference. May run a tad rich in the winter but other than that....just hauls ass and none of that silly ass MAF bullshit.

I have 2 MAF's. One is w/ and one is w/o. The MAF w/ the screen seems to work better.

I have spoken to both of them and they say that they would need to see the car.

Yeah, he seems to know his stuff. I think he is out toward reading.
