Bye Bye California. Hello sunny Buffalo?!?!
Just found out that a house was just inhereted and we will be leaving snowy california to go to sunny buffalo since there will be no rent. Maybe can finally go back to school.
Anyone from Buffalo that can tell me what I can look forward too? Only been there once for a week for 4th of July a couple years ago.

Well hopefully with no rent I can afford a big shovel and a bigger coat. Maybe with the extra money some presents for the TA.

Yea, out here in California when a car is either not running or not being drivin you can register it as inoperable. Less insurance, not sure if thats a California thing or not.
Thanks Diperent, its deff gonna be a huge change but worst case I'll know if I like to live where it snows.

If you live in southern Cali and by the beach. I would never move from there to anywhere around the north east. That will be a big change for the worst. You don't get alot of warm month's around here. They go by too fast.

I used to work with a gal who was from Buffalo.Talked about how cold the winters are there. Lake effects blizzards and noreasters.
She moved back there b/c she got tired of "no seasons" in San Diego weather.
She missed the leaves turning color and the snow... I guess if you grow up in it, that's what you're used to...
I'll take the "no seasons" here thank you.
65 degrees and sunny here today!!!

I lived in Ga and then went to Cali for 5 years and then back to Ga. Damn was that shcok. If I wouldn't have gotten divorced I would have stayed out there I think. Man I loved that place but damn it was expensive.

Thats where I am from (really Niagara Falls), 20 miles north. Snow is not that bad, you get use to it. And NY loves your money (TAXES). Good luck.

I moved to san diego 4 years ago from rochester about an hour from buffalo and I wouldnt move back there because of the horrible weather and taxes, even if i had to live in the street here. Yes i know the cost of living here is just dumb but the weather here is the best ever so to me its worth it. But if you must go do yourself a favor and go to state street in rochester ny a place called the dinosaur bbq it is the best bbq you will ever have go on a summer night saturdays are the best huge biker crowd and lots of fun. And the bbq is the best and ive ate a lot of bbq in my life when ever i go back to see my parents i always go there. good luck

Well it might be official then that I am the only one that will leave cali and go to buffalo. Seems everyone leaves there, and only people who end up there its because they go back . Well I just dont think I can pass up having to pay rent here in cali in an apt for moving there to a house with no rent. Its probly only gonna be for a couple years, if I can take it.
From my understanding theres no buffalo people here ? or there computer is frozen

The first winter will be fun if you are not use to it. The second year and on will not be as fun.

Winter isnt all that bad.. just takes some getting used to if you didnt grow up around the cold.... for me its kindof the opposite, i have a hard time dealing with really hot weather ie. 100*+
interesting fact.... TOP 10 coldest places to live in the US.
The list for coldest places puts International Falls, Minn., at the top with a yearly average temperature of 36.4 degrees. All 10 places on this list except for Caribou, Maine, and Alamosa, Colo., are in Minnesota, Michigan, and North Dakota.Last edited by foshizl; 01-26-2006 at 11:57 AM.
