As far as handling goes, I would guess the 1994 RX7 has better skidpad numbers than the GTO or any of the f-bodies.

I saw your dyno. With that power - you would be looking at my rear.
As for handling, I track my RX-7 at Laguna Seca - your GTO would likely be wall paper by turn 3. Your street car would not last 2 laps (your brakes would be mush - assuming you didn't hit a wall first).
Just for grins, I looked up the new & improved 2008 model stats. It pulled a tire shredding, hold on to your chair folks, .84Gs on the skidpad. This was only to be surpassed by a 62.9 mph slalom.Put it this way, the R1 RX-7 pulled a 1.01G & a obtained 71 mph slalom.....FIFTEEN years ago on 16"/225 inferior/dated VR rubber. My car (modified a bit) has lost 150 lbs, sits an inch lower, has 17"/275 ZR rubber, thicker front & rear ASBs....I could go on, but suffice it to say - it's a track car.
You have a nice blown GTO. It just wouldn't be up to the task, in any performance category, against my FD (not that it really matters - just pointing out a few things).

You are correct, but the '93 R1 handled better than any RX-7 produced - it was a "track god" when it was released.

Apples and Oranges. These "debates" are endless and have no real measurement for conclusion one way or the other guys.

There is nothing anyone can do to a 3,800 car with significant front end weight bias to allow it to handle with a track prepped RX-7. The 1,200 lbs weight penalty carries way too much energy into a chicane...all coupled with huge understeer & a high center of gravity to boot. To even suggest such a preposterous idea leads me to believe you have little to no track experience (one with corners & changing elevations
).
Put it this way. You can put $300 Nike's on a fat man. You can have him go to the gym to increase his strength. But at the end of the day, he's a strong fat man unable to cover Jerry Rice on a post fly pattern.
This isn't "apples to oranges", it's ~ 16 yrs of track experience backed up by the laws of inertia (physics).
