***May COTM.....MacGyver***
I remember doing a small peel out at the light in the 2nd car I've owned, an old Honda Accord. The car before that was a Diesel Volkswagen Rabbit, so of course me being able to peel out impressed me at that gullible teenage year.
Well I got to the next light and an IROC Z pulled up next to me. He decided to really show me what peeling out is all about. I basically watched in shock and awe.
That was my first time being next to something that can do such a thing in person.
My next impression from GM was when I got me a job as a Valet attendant at a luxury condo community. This was in 1990 and this is where I got to drive Corvettes, Porches and even a Testarrosa. The residents got to know me and I would actually drop them off and pick them up at the Airport. That did it for me. I had a speed bug and bought my self a Mustang GT the following year.
It didn't take long before I blew the engine and was forced to sell.I went a bought something more practical for me at the time and didn't think about getting another speed demon for quite some time.
Well quite a few years went by and my brother bought a Supra. On dyno it put 377 to the wheels. I really didn't know how 377 to the wheels felt until he took me for a ride. Whoa! I got the bug again. I still didn't get anything, because my wife at the time thought it was a stupid thing to do.We eventually got separated then divorced.
Now it's time to get something that gets the adrenaline running!
My brother no longer had his Supra, but he was looking for something as well. He said the Camaro was the best bang per buck. I said ok, well I will start looking around. Next thing I know he went and got an LT1. He put a bigger cam and flowmasters on her. The car sounded obnoxiously loud, but the sound sort of grew on me after awhile. However the front end of the LT1 didn't have the look I like. I preferred the look of the LS1 Camaro.
I joined LS1.com back in 2000 or 2001 I believe (before it went down for sometime) and did some research for a few months. I like what I read and how easy the LS1 can be modified. I finally went out and got Silver Z28. I loved that car!! Did all the work myself and with a good friend of mine. Loaded her up with Nitrous, Headers and bigger cam. I also did some appearance mods. On motor 357 to the wheels. She was my daily driver, but with that came it's own set of issues. However I was very much happy with her.

I always thought to win these things it was about how popular you are or how many guys you are cool with on the site.

you'd be very surprised. These guys generally vote for the car/pic that looks the best. Several of the winners have been people with not a ton of posts. That's one reason I started assigning numbers. A member suggested it and it sounded like a good idea. Takes the names out of the contest to an extent.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Congradulations, man! I base my choices on photo quality alone. Sometimes looks don't always tell enough of the story-but I really think this car came with the best of both. It's great to see an ls1 vette on the front page again
happy birthday, bud!
