screw that! run that douche and when he wins remind him that his overall package is still garbage. Ask him how long that pretty little block will last with a blower on it (especially modded) and do a brake stand in his face.
I've lost races to 'Stangs before (not in my '02-but I just got that), and I've seen 'Stangs take it into the wall or start spewing blue smoke...trust me, in the long run you'll be the winner

Lol your silly, the 03/04 cobras have forged internals from the factory. People strap stage 4 superchargers and bolt ons to them and make 700-800rwhp. Without changeing anything internal. Sure its costs 5-6k for a set of heads and another 2 grand for 4 cams, which is why most people dont touch the valve train or heads. They just put on a new S/C or raise the boost. I have seen the 4.6 supercharged from those cars last over 80kmiles with 600rwhp. Those engines last, soem people put an intake manifold on and go with a twin tubo setup and make 800-900rwhp without changing the internals. The engine internally can handle double 450rwhp. Dont count on him breaking

yeah, I've been outta the game for some time, last 'Stang that impressed me was a '95. The guy said it was the last year of the 5-0, claimed he was puttin 350 to the ground, from what I saw I beleived him. Then I watched him put it into a telephone pole support cable...
-still not much respect for Ford Racing.
I know, challenge him to a slolam run! hahahaha

It would take alot to put 350 the the ground in a 5.0. It would be almost not streetable. the most i have seen anyone get out of a streetable setup is 300-315rwhp or so, thats all motor of couse with nos or forced induction it would be easy.

Unless you are gonna cam it or spray it your only hope is that he smokes the tires off the line, and then miss shifts lol. A good driver with his setup can hit 11.6s-11.8s with sticky tires.

After getting walloped by that 5-0 guy (I was in a turd-gen) I started hanging out with his mustang club. I watched him pull a 13.4 1/4 mile, burning all the way through 3rd. then he threw slicks on it-that was funny!
He must of dropped it in gear @ 3,000 RPM, got one of the best launches I've ever seen and instantly backed off the throttle...told me he thought he broke something! It wasn't long after that he totaled it.
As for the rest of the mustangs, they were all clowns.
I can't wait to test that new generation of mustangs, the ones that actually look decent.

A ls1 car will take a new stang. Stock for Stock, 13.4 and what was his MPH? that would tell you closer to what he should run if he hooks. A buddy of mine just ran a 13.4 @124mph in his turbo foxbody. Thats a 600rwhp car with 3 year old nittos lol in those 3 years he has put 4kmiles on the car

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
well this is a simple thread...go full bolt on...get a 3600 stall..and then you have a choice..go get a pill a 150-175 ..get a tune..and get some stickies and you have him..those termi's are nothing to play around with..and by the way..dont fear the spray.FEAR THE TUNE! stock motors can handle a healthy shot of spray..as long as its tuned right. dont believe all this shit about spray is bad for the engine bs

Damn. i've smashed on a 98 cobra with bolt ons no problem, but these are a whole new story.

Can't beat'em all though.
Buddy of mine is on his second blown cobra. His first one ran real close to mine. At the time I was running 11.40's at 118 mph, and he only had a few things done to his, pulley, exhaust, sticky tires and a few other things, he would run anywhere from 11.60 to 12 flat at about 122 mph.
I'd see him at the track all the time.
He could MPH slightly higher than me,,,but he had trouble 60 footing the car so I would nip him most of the time if he didn't run me down on the big end. I think it bothered him because next time I see him he is in a different color Cobra.
I walk up to get the story. He said it was cheaper to sell his other one and buy this one that was modded even more rather than mod the old one.
So he throws his sticky tires on and blasts off an 11 flat at 131 mph. His car has easy 10 second potential when he figures it out.
Well I've done a few more things to my car hoping to widdle the ET down a tenth or two,(for myself,,,not because of the cobra),,,but I don't think I have enough now anyway. I could spray the car with a small shot but I don't want to do it that way.
Sooooo,,,,sometimes enough is enough. There are just cars that are faster,,,,chances of seeing them on the street are nil though,,,,and I figure a low 11 second car is enough to cover me in most instances,,,,and if not,,,then thats another damn good running street car,,,I suck it up and move on,,,,
With that said,,,the best advice in my opinion is,,,,mod your car because you enjoy it and you have the desire. Don't mod it because someone is faster,,,set a goal for the car and do what you need to accomplish it.
Worrying about every other person and how fast they are will make you lose your hair,,,,(don't ask me how I know,,,,lol)
It's all about fun,,,win or lose.
