I was going to post it and say just bout the same thing ...... Never really like drum solos or bass solos that much... Guitar solos are OK if there not to long .. All those solos can kill a good show ..... Some songs have a good drum solo built into them and thats Ok.. but a 5 min drum solo can get a little long no matter who did them....

Personaly I think there's alot of better drummers out there than Neil Peart. Dennis Chambers for one. I dont think Death Metal drummers are the best, that's just what I like but to say Neil could just sit down and plkay like Hoglan is laughable.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
3 things I want to say:
1. Props to Doberman 152 for knowing Steve "Machine Gun" Smith of Journey (Happy?).
2. There is so much wrong with the list in post #68, even for rock drummers.
3. Yes, Flo shreds....

That list sucks for the most part. I think it's more of a popularity contest...
Here are some less-known drummers that I've seen live and were amazing:
Matt McDonough-Mudvayne
Rod Morganstien- (don't laugh) Winger
Igor Calavera- Sepultura
Ingo Schwictenburg- Helloween
Mike "Puffy" Bordin- Faith No More/Ozzy
Nick Menza- Megadeth
Nico McBrain- Iron Maiden
