I haven't read all of the replies but I'm voting for Rush drummer Neil Peart. Come to think of it, Travis Barker is a bad motherfucker as well.

Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall. If you have never seen him or heard him and you are a drummer you soon will. I'd say his chops are on par with Peart, and his double bass technique is FLAWLESS!!

They're right, he couldn't. Neil peart ain't squat no more, sorry. I've been playing drums for 18 years. Sit him down with a band like Cryptopsy and he'd be lost.

Beat me to it. Hoglan and Reinert are freakin amazing. Dave Lombardo is what got me into drums 18 years ago.

thats the one I had just listen to and was going to post .. Dont see what you like about that guy so much ... sure he is fast .. Hate the Double Bass sound when they sound flat like that ...
