Best Drummer Ever.......?
Since we already have the singer/vocals thread I figured why not.
In my opinion Neil Peart has it on lock with the skills. If you have Never seen RUSH live you are missing out!!
MAD SKILLS!!

"Neil Peart is the most popular drummer today. When it comes to voting in Modern Drummer or Drummerworld - Neil Peart is always the No. 1.
Neil Peart (pronounced "Peert" not "Pert"), born September 12, 1952, near Hagersville, Ontario, is the drummer and lyricist for the Canadian rock band Rush. Rush is the most successful band from Canada, having played together for over 30 years, and selling over 24.5 million records (U.S.). Over the years, Rush has developed their own style of Progressive Rock, weaving together heavy metal, art rock, reggae, new wave, pop, grunge, and classical styles with thoughtful lyrics. The result has been 23 diverse albums, successful tours, and a loyal fan base. "Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Peart is definitely in the top 5 on my favorite drummer list. I'll post some links I have of drummers on my computer at home latter today.
That is a good clip though.

I agree with the Neil Peart vote.
Also...Tool's drummer is amazing. No idea what his name is though.

He is in my Top 5!!
He also was into drag racing. He had a 54 Ford with a Nasty 427 in it for a street toy. I'll try to find some pics. I remember fellow band members talking in a interview that it was sooooo powerfull it would go instantly sideways and they didn't want to ride in it again due to the fact it scared them.
R.I.P.

I've been playing drums for 41 years myself give or take a few months (yes, I'm an old fart). I've seen both Vinnie and Lars numerous times. I consider Vinnie the better drummer. Lars Ulrich, although a good fit for Metallica, is nowhere near the top 100 alltime best drummers.....

I always enjoyed early Phil Collins stuff when he actually played the drums.
SICK!!
Alex Van Halen did it for me as young buck!! That was before I knew who Neil Peart was.
