Do you guys consider this being a SS poser ?
Hi fellow fbody fans. I have a 2001 camaro z28, i recently found a totalled 2001 SS with parts for sale. Here is the list 1) true SS hood, 2) Cme valance with tips.
If i were to install the true ss hood and the ss cme valance would others consider that as me trying to be a SS rather then a z28 ? I just dont want people to think thatso i would like to get others opinions on this subject.
I myslef like the looks of the hood and the fact that it is functional, along with the CME.
Thanks !

I like the SS hood and spoiler. I'de get the hood myself. If the SS had the sport appearance package I would have gottin that instead. I like the full ground effects but would like to have a SS hood on my Z/28. The tail is nice as well but I paid extra for that part of my car.

Yes, 97 did have and in fact I was surprised to see a 96 one time with a legitimate SS package.
Just added a steal of a deal SS (I think its aftermarket) hood to my 01' Z last night! Test fit and said the hell with it, left it on.

Thank you!

I`ve put many incorrect emblems on my vehicles on purpose, amazing how few people catch it. Nobody has said anything negative to me.

I agree with Ed and Big D, don't do the badges. And as Zboner said, its your car who cares.

I have thought about doing that as well but if anyone had brains they would hear it and know its not a v6.

Sunset Orange Metallic- 2002 Camaro SS
That's a tough question to answer. The best looking 4th gen z28's I've seen so far were the ones that didn't pretend to be anything else except z28's. They also honed in on their strengths and topped off the look with flawless detailing.
But that doesn't mean that you can't borrow camaro themes and be creative. It all depends on the look that you want, while maintaining the model boundaries. If you preserved the basic theme, which included the z28 emblems, then I think you could pull off a fantastic upgrade if done with taste.

its your car, and you need no ones permission to do anything that you want to it. i personally have ws6 badges on my t/a. i didnt put them there, they were on it when i bought it, but it doesnt matter. i havent taken them off. its funny that most of the time, its the people who have the ss's or ws6's that are most against doing this. i personally tell anyone who asks me about my car that its a ws6 clone. thats what it comes down to, whether or not you try to pass it off as something its not. if you run around saying "look at my new SS!!" then your a jackass. anything else is just pure expression, and what you want on your z-28.
