2007 Camaro
Alive or dead? Lately the rumors surrounding this have been heating up again. What are some of your opinions of the way it should be done?

I think GM if it brings it back will likely jump on the retro remake trend and we'll end up with a Camaro that looks like the new Mustang, and hopefully engineered to outperform stock for stock thier entire line, and maybe even for marketing drama outdo every new friggin HEMI POS Dodge can crank out like back in the old days

I think that a ZL1 LS7 model has to be available for 45k to dominate the new cobras. Obviously the LS2 Z28s would romp the current GTs, but I want GM to take a stab at the Shelby Cobras. This is unlikely though as they would be too scared that such a camaro would interfere with their corvette plans.............uggh

Arrest Me Red/T-Tops- 1995 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Its alive and will be back...not the Firebird though...the GTO took care of that, kinda cornered the market for the Pontiac demographic buyers

See, that sucks. Even though I am a Chevy guy and love Camaro's, it won't be the same without the Firebird! It is like the Camaro is losing his brother!

so does anybody really know? Is the Camaro coming back? I was sitting on a plane 2 weeks ago headed to Corpus Christi, TX and a guy I sat next to said he worked for GM. (We were talking about my 02 "SS") and He said they are bringing it back, it will have a retro look and it will be in 2007. He also said they had an "SS" coming out as a 2008 model with 475HP! Now for all I know he could be a serial killer, but he seemed like he knew what he was talking about, but who knows???

This is from a secret GM document that my "friend" had about the 2007 Camaro.....
" Introducing the all new 2007 Camaro, new design, new features, a new way about thinking about the Camaro. Never before in its lustrious 40 year history has the Camaro been such the center of your attention and for good reason. To start , we have completely redisgned the exterior to turn heads more than ever, with sleeker lines, a low stance and design that says "look out". We have also added more exterior color choices like "Snow White", "Baltic Blue" and "Midnight Black".
"Dont think we forgot about the inside, it was also completely redesigned for 2007. From posh leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel, power windows and locks, standard drivers and passengers side "NexGen" airbags, AM/FM stereo with in dash CD player (OnStar available) everything you need at your finger tips."
"We have also redesigned the drivetrain with many exciting choices to choose from. First the base Camaro model comes standard with the reliable "Iron Duke" inline 4 cylinder, developing an astonishing 105 horsepower out of only 2.5 litres of motor. It comes standard with a 3 speed manual transmission, a 3 speed automatic is optional. Next in line is the Camaro Z-28, rich in history as being the performance Camaro, we can proudly say it still carries the torch today. Standard is the 2.8 litre V-6 producing a whopping 155 horsepower with the multi port fuel injection system and dual manifold exhaust system. Standard is a 4 speed manual with a 4 speed automatic being optional.
"Chevy is also proud to say that in 2008 we will bring back the "SS" Camaro with a exciting new engine just developed by GM. It is a hybrid 1.9 litre inline 4 pounding out a ground shaking 207 horsepower. This amazing feat was made possible be the half gas, half electric power plant just released by GM, which many in the industry say is up to todays technicial standards. This remarkable engine will only be available in the "SS" model, making it even more exclusive. So stop in today and drive away in your new 2007 Camaro"
Nobody here has to believe me, I dont care, this is what the paper said on it and it was from GM. Im saving my downpayment now
......is anyone getting worried yet ????

This is a joke, the Iron Duke was in Thirdgens and Fieros in the early 80s.

think 3 y-body cars. that right chevy and pontic are done fuckin around with ford. the romured plan for the camaro and firebird to bulit on the corvette chassis and throw every V-8 motor at it from the vortech 5300/LS-4 5.3 to the to the big boys the LS-7 and the vortech 8100. my socure a local dearler so wheather they right i dont know. but if gm was to do that they would kill the mustang and the gt.

red- 2002 SLP Formula Firehawk
I am really torn about ever seeing a new Firebird out of GM. I have a very rare 'Bird now, and would like to keep it that way. On the other hand, it sux not having new Firebirds in the mix every year.

I do not think they are coming back. I would not want one if it was a four banger...
