150k miles, What should I do
My Z has around 145k miles on it but runs great. I havent really had to replace anything on it except a water pump @ 100k so I dont know what to exspect next. I was going to buy a used LS1 from a local guy for $1500 but I wasnt sure if I should just upgrade/mods my car and just fix shit as it breaks or deal with having to install/make sure the engine even works(rip me off).
My Z is a A4 so I have to keep that in mind also. What do u guys think?

What maintenance have you done in the past? How many miles have you put on it?

Just the general maintenance like tune up and fluids, brakes, and just on top of mobile1 synthetic oil every 4000 miles or so.

white, white and pewter- Rip99SSA4,74Z28M4,02SSM6
i would floor it once a day,
a wot a day keeps the doctor away,
bro your car is good for another 50k, keep your foot in it and when and if it breaks its just time for a new ls6 or 408//
on a serious note, plugs oil, fuel trans filter, a trans flush, NO SEAFOAM, who ever recomends that hates you lol, or doesnt do their research, also a auto rx cleaning would do it good,thats about it

Monterey Maroon Metalic- 2000 Z28
My motor might die one day but I'm with you, I will keep this car even if I hit a gazillion dollar jackpot. Do your maintenance things like radiator flush, change diff. fluid, new fuel filter, and keep doing your oil change intervals the way you are. Mobil 1 synthetic is excellent stuff.
I'd like to make a mileage poll thread to see whos got how many miles and what needs to be done with high mileage LS1's.

Wow good to know that these are still running strong after that amount of miles. I still have a long way to go to catch you. My 2000 SS only has 38,700 Miles. and I only drive about 3,500 a year.

99 Z, 184 XXX miles, rebuilt A4 tranny around 133XXX miles, new water pump @ 100k, new window motors around the same time, rear end is starting to make noise, but other than that I beat an 06 GT on the highway lol, still havn't installed my pacesetters that i bought a year ago, afraid to up the hp with this old engine I have a feeling it might ruin something that i'm not ready to repair.

Sebring Silver- 1998 Camaro Z28
155K and still kicking
The following has been replaced on my 1998 Silver Camaro Z28:
* New rear-end at 100K miles
* Power steering pump twice
* Air Pump at 80K miles
* New PowerSlot rotors at 33K miles--haven't needed to change them since
* New front brake pads at 33K and 100K miles.
* New back brake pads at 33K--haven't needed to change them since
* New front headlight bulbs yesterday and restored headlight lense (big improvement)
I am about to change the following in addition to std tune-up:
* EGR valve
* Ignition coils
* Fuel Filter
I do the following maintenance on my car:
* oil change every 3K religiously--no longer use synthetic just the regular stuff
* fuel injection cleaning every 15K miles--especially at higher miles...
At 10 yrs and 155K miles, I've test-driven Infiniti G35's BMW 3/5 series, etc. and I still believe that this car can meet and beat any of these, therefore, I intend to keep this car as long as I can.
Ohh, and it does 25mpg everyday!!!
