I finally made a pass in mine to get a baseline of what it runs. With 3000 TCI convertor, tune, lid with ram air, TB ported/polish/bumpstop mod, TB bypass, and magnaflow catback, I made 4 runs, slowest being a 13.06 & the fastest a 13.02, all were at 103 mph, 3 with 1.80 60', best being a 1.79 60'. Next addition will be a little NOS, possibly around 125 wet shot. Shooting for 11.90's.

Very nice. Did you run those 60 foot times on stock rubber? Yours is very close to mine other than the converter.
I would guess your converter is really helping you out those first 60 feet, thats a nice ET for the MPH you are running.
Mine hits 105 mph with similar mods,,,but only running 13.30's. I still have the stock converter and 2.1 60 foot times is all it will muster.
New Fuddle 3,400 converter is on the way though,,,,should squeak me into the 12's with no other changes. Mine weighs a bit much at 3,820 lbs. with me in it. So I can't complain for a little motor that is still internally stock.

Well you're in Atlanta, Georgia,,,I've raced there before,,,,thats a hookin' track so it will help you if you have good weather conditions on your side.
I would suspect you would be somewhere in the 13's as most of these cars are. Where though is anyones guess.
Be aware though, last time I was at Atlanta they were sticky about safety equipment. That being said,,,,since we have convertables.......a roll cage is required on anything 13.49 or quicker per NHRA rule book.
I have since dipped below this mark but thankfully the track I race at here in Ohio is very soft on the rules and generally only enforce the helmets. Just something to keep in mind.

Firebird, Thats what i was thinking. On the 1st pass it was a 1.79 60' with a 13.02 @ 103.XX, i was thinking maybe a mistake. But the other 3 were so close, I guess it was right. I really do not understand why the MPH was so low either. Everyone else around my et was running in the 105/106 MPH range. My car is an A4 with 3.42 gears, but that should not be the problem, also noticed the shifts were really soft, maybe transmission slipping.

I couldn't really say, but your MPH isn't too far off I think,,,,,taking into consideration what the car "might" weigh. Not to mention how efficient your aftermarket converter might be?? Then take into account the DA readings you had the day you raced????
When mine was a stocker I only ran 102 mph with mine,,,,I did a few simple tuning tricks with HPtuner and picked it up to 104 mph,,,,,my best MPH to date has been 105. I'm actually pretty happy with mine considering it weighs 3,820 lbs. with me in it.
Still not as much as some other stockish LS1 cars but mines an auto with 3.23 gears,,,,,the auto soaks up a bit of HP,,,plus it's not the best gear spread from 1-2 so that accounts for some of it.
The 6 speed transmissions take less HP to turn,,,also have a closer gear spread throughout 1-4,,,and run 3.42 gears as well,,,,so they tend to MPH a bit more. Sounds to me you car runs pretty good for what ya got.
Oh ya, I noticed you listed you have a tune,,,,,are you still using all or some of the torque management??? That could account for alot of the soft shifting and low MPH etc...Last edited by Firebirdjones; 03-07-2008 at 02:45 PM.

Mine's an 02 Z/28 with auto & stock 16' Wheels & tires and a 3.23 gear , Vert .
My first runs were bone stock 13.8's at almost 101 MPH.
Later after installing a SLP lid with a K&N air & oil filter using GC synthetic oil ~ Magnaflow muffler only ~ full Z-MAX treatment , I ran 13.20's at over 105 MPH . So naturally I'm very happy with the way my convertible runs & its getting over 18 MPG in town & 25 on the highway so I won't be screwing with any other mods for a very long time if ever .

Red- 2002 Trans Am Convertible
The best I've done out of about five or six runs is a 13.7X at around 102.5
mph. My 60 ft. times have always sucked - 2.2 to 2.3. Just haven't
had enough track time to get the M6 launch part down. This is with a SLP
Loudmouth, y-pipe, lid, bellows, and a Vinci tuner.
Flirted with the idea of drag radials last year, even bought a extra pair of
Speedlines to mount them on, but got cold feet when I realized that my bank
account couldn't afford a rear end repair or replacement if it got killed at the
track.
I'm sure a more skilled driver could get better times, considering the car
dyno'd almost 330 rwhp and 344 rwt. But then again, I think I remember
reading once that the WS6 'verts were the heaviest of all the F-bodies.
Or maybe I just keep telling myself that to cover up my lack of driving
ability.

Well thats not entirely true. It can vary alot depending on alot of things. I gathered a couple of friends of mine who had T-top cars and went over to the local scales,,,,and one of them was actually heavier than my 02 SS vert, we are still scratching our heads on that one
My wifes vert is 70 lbs. lighter than my vert 3550 verses 3620.
All at the same scale.
But if it makes ya feel better, I still don't think it's your driving
For what it's worth,,,my 02 vert auto ran nearly identical to yours when it was bone stock.

[QUOTE=chevy1966;1389121]WOW, That's impressive for your mods.
What mods???? I don't see Spanky's modifications anywhere on that post. Is it even a convertable???
Nevermind,,,,I didn't realize he posted over a month ago.
