...that anytime you work on your car your hands come out all bloody. Little hunks of meat missing here and there. Changed out the rear cross member bushings and you would think I put my hands in a blender and turned it on high. My hands look like Frankensteins after 50 years of twisting wrenches. And the funny thing is I never remember doing it....cutting myself....you finish up and get out from under the car and your hands look like a Friday the 13th movie meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Oh well. Manly man stuff I guess.

Happens all the time. I also hate it, but after I am done I love the accomplishment. Plus it a good conversation starter.

I always find a way to cut myself when I am working on the car. I love the ones that I don't know are there till I actually see them or someone tells me I'm bleeding.

dont even get me started with the trouble we had doing fcking spark plugs on saturday. it was gravy until we got to that terrible back right side plug, its the first time the plugs have been changed so they were all a bit hard to get out at first, well this bitch just didnt wanna come out, my boyfriend is under the car, im on top of the enginge trying to hold the ratchet in place *because he couldnt see* hes wrenchin it.... holy hell i kid u not 2 hours fcking later the little bitch came out. we almost said fck it, his hands were all scratched and bloody... my arm/hand is bruised. goddamn is all i can say.....

I didn't enjoy when my torque wrench failed on me and I ended up torquing down a side bolt main cap bolt until it snapped. Stupid GM torque to yields.

Dead punched an iron block.
Otherwise, I came out in pretty good shape with the swap.

well, it's due to a couple of reasons. One, you're so focused on the job at hand that your mind blocks out any outside interruptions such as cuts, missing limbs, and wives. The second reason is that we're car guys that are just tough in general and don't feel pain unless you scratch the paint on your ride then your heart hurts.

That is so damn accurate its scary. I ripped off a fingernail (not the tip, but the whole thing) putting in my new front turnsignals, and felt nothing. However, when I had to use a prybar to stretch the corner of the nose to get the signal housing in, I practically cried watching my paint flex. Thankfully it didnt crack. Felt the fingernail (or missing one that is) when I cleaned up afterwards though. So did my neighbors, lol.
