Hurst shifter
I saw a trans am the other day that had a chrome shifter handle which said hurst on it, It looked like the handle on the old competition plus shifters, just a chrome short throw handle. Has anyone seen one of these? or know where I might be able to find one, The one I saw was on a T56 it looked nice. thanks

Oh,,,well I know what firehawk is looking for, I just don't know where to tell him to look for one on a T-56.
I have a real comp plus on the shelf for a muncie, I'll have to snap a picture of it tomorrow for an example.

I have the stick you're referring to on my car. It's a Hurst Billet Plus # 391-5061 - Sorry I don't have any pics...

BTW it's a single-piece unit, so the shifter stick is NOT removable if you ever want to change sticks. Just figured I'd throw that in there.

Well here's a shot of a real comp plus shifter but I forgot it's the only one that isn't burried and still attatched to a muncie covered with bellhousings,,,up high on the shelf. Soooo the picture isn't the best,,,but I didn't feel like dragging it down at 7 am in the morning,,,lol.

You are corrected, sir!! It is indeed a Billet Plus. They no longer make the comp plus like you posted in the above pic. You have #391-5060 on your car, not #391-5061 Look it up on Hurst-shifters.com! No offense, but do your homework, before you tell me what I installed on my car.

You need homework as well,,,,,that picture above is indeed a comp plus that is still made today,,,the one in the picture is actually a Comp Plus for 70-72 A-body (chevelle, monte carlo) for a console application. It has a slight offset to accomodate a console, slightly different for a non-console car.
I simply posted the picture to give others an "idea" of the look that Mr. Firehawk was after.
I just purchased a billet plus for the 6 speed car,,,only one part number listed in their current catalog,,,and it's a black handle shifter.
If you claimed to have the chrome stick then a simple picture would have cleared things up a bit, not to mention saying it wasn't available would have helped,,,,,no need to get your panties in a twist over it,,,sheeesh. Some of you kids have to be the touchiest people I have ever talked to about cars,,,,well that and corvette peopleLast edited by Firebirdjones; 02-19-2008 at 09:35 AM.
