just a side note: i think everybody driving a fast car should know some basic rules of physics, stuff like:
double speed = 4 times stopping distance (40 meters @ 55mph, 120 meters @ 110mph),
at 100 mph, you travel 50 meters in 1 second reaction time while your foot is preparing to move over to the break pedal.

so, if they went 300 km/h even an m5 needs well over 200 meters to come to a stop. if you're not used to high speeds (= autobahn), you can't develop a feel for brake points + dynamics at such speeds. i'm sure most of us here will agree that it's a different game above 120mph.

On the suicide post..... God, I lost soooo many friends and family over the years I lost ALL respect for any cowards that kill them selfs. It doesn't matter how bad or hopeless your life is you have to think about the others in your life and what you are about to do to them.
Shit it's hard enough out here to not get caught up in someone else's drama let alone to take your self out!

Thats fine I'm still grieving my brothers death myself but that doesn't change how selfish and cowardly act suicide is. And if that offends someone they haven't come to realize the whole act of suicide.

all you have to do is read the kill section and it becomes pretty clear that this WILL happen here. You don't have to be 18 to have it happen either. We had a local GTO owner die ~2weeks ago by losing control of his car, he was 30. He left 3 kids and a wife behind. Don't take anything for granted and know that when you hammer the car it may be the last time.

I agree, Ive had my TA maxed one time and that was enough for me. No need to go that fast all the. Some guys on here talk about running 150 every couple days or at least once a week, imo thats crazy. Calm down, life is short enough.

long time ago a member here was killed in his camaro trying to impress his son... son was ok but his dad didn't make it... all kinds of controversy came out about "the black box" (pcm i assume) or what ever recording your speed and what not before the crash

We use to have a forum of the ls1 members that have died. Last one i remember was a younger kid prolly around 16- 18 that committed suicide. I forget what his name was anymore. dunno if anybody remembers him or not.
