    Help Gauge doesn't light up

I got in my car after work today, started it, and turned on the headlight and right then the steering wheel buttons glow but the radio (stock) stops glowing (still plays) and the tripometer stops as well. Nothing else comes on.

the gauges are black. i tried messing with gauge brightness knob. steering wheel changes but nothing else happens. i turn the headlights off and radio glows again. i turn off the engine and restart several times and same thing happens.
this morning everything worked fine. any suggestions?

Weird that it's all working fine now.

    Funny story.

I was on my way home and all of the sudden my gages stopped working. They went down like the car was off. Well I stopped at a light and figured I would turn her off then back on. Well I turned her off, she wouldn't come back on. Nothing happened when turning the key, except the radio would come back on. I was like WTF. And there were a whole bunch of people behind me, so I had to push my car off the road. I checked all the fuses in the Engine Bay, that I could check, Nothing. I ended up calling my uncle to come help and he said I would need a jump. Well, while he was on his way, I figured I would check the fuses by the door and low and behold, a fuse was blown. I switched it with my radio fuse and everything started working again. Apparently there's a safety feature that won't allow you to start your car if the guages don't work.

    Lesson: Always carry extra fuses.

    Check your battery terminals.
