Rally Stripes
hey, i'm just lookin to get someones/some peoples opinion on rally stripes. I'm planning to get some red rallys painted onto my 00' white z28. It would cost $600 to do, think it's worth it? (i think it is, but i'd like to get some more opinions before i go do anything permanent...ish.)

I dunno, stripes always look tacky in my opinion. I think they only look good on older muscle cars that had em stock. On an SS they might be ok, but just a Z I dunno.... Especially red stripes on a white car, might look not so good... It's your car though, do what you think looks good according to you.

i can see what you mean, but i'm not goin with the conventional rally stripes that wrap around the full body of the car. i'm goin with a more old school SS look where the stripes stop before they wrap around the bumpers.

NBM / Silver- 00 SS / 71 SS Elcamino
I have the 35th aniversary stripes on my 00 SS. I love them and get compliments all the time. Guess I am old school because an SS without SS stripes is not an SS in my opinion. If you like it, go for it. Its your car and you shouldn't be concerned about what everyone else thinks. Look at my profile pic to see them
You can also just go with Vinyl for now to see if you like them. http://www.3rdgendecals.com has some of the best around. A guy on that site has some Lime green stripes on his white SS and looks sick!!!Last edited by Jays00ss; 01-25-2008 at 06:45 AM.

Artic White- 00 SS Vert.
Why don't you get some vinyl decals? If you don't like them you can always peel them off. If you like the stripes, then you can get them painted, and/or change the color.

I agree, the only reason i didn't go w/ a vinyl is b/c i would prolly do it myself and i'm pretty ocd about having things look right, so i'd be pretty pissed if i messed up the alignment and i don't want to have to replace them in a few years, so i'm pretty much goin to go ahead and get the red ones painted on whenever i get a chance, but am going to put a red vinyl on the camaro impression on the tail end of the car to match.
