ok. how's this, you don't HAVE to tune for a converter.
or, it depends.
or, maybe.

well, if we are going to get all specific.... we don't need to modify our vehicles, but we do.
like i said, just because you put a converter in, doesn't mean you need to.
not saying you shouldn't . just don't have to.
would it be beneficial if you do? sure. even stock it would be beneficial. just don't need to.

I have the Vig 3200 (a 2K model) - it does stall closer to 3600. I had TM deleted, line pressure raised, in gear idle bumped up cause of idle "hunting" at low speeds and coming to a stop, played with shift points a little. Car ran OK but it's much better now.

well, i was wondering who would be the first to mention me in vinci's ass. why not bassani's ass, or yank's ass, or ny-trex's ass? did i say vinci says you don't have/need to? don't know where you extrapolated that from? if you want to know what they think about it, then ask them. don't assume what i say is what someone else says.
to think "I" put a yank py3400e in MY black 00 formula. did no changes to the stock PCM and drive it everyday.
now, again, his question was, do you HAVE to do tuning when you put a converter in. answer is NO, you do not HAVE to. do tuners want to/ suggest changing the stock computer settings? don't know, i don't work for tuners. last i checked, i work for myself.
now, do you want to keep going at this????

Thanks all now I am more confused then ever
Just kidding, I get it. It should be OK without a tune, but may run better with some "tuning" of shifts, etc. I am going with a 2800 or 3000 max because I really don't like the feel of a loose converter but like the launch... I'm just trying to figure out the best lower stall set up with the tightest feel.
Thanks all....
