I have a chance to buy a 2000 formula but I was wondering what the 1/4 mile specs were? I know its a ls1 is it 305hp like the trans am?? and is it lighter than the trans am and the WS6?

Red- 2001 Camaro SS A4
im not sure about weight...but they can have a killer sleeper look. I was thinking about getting one and replacing the "Formula" badging with regular "Firebird" badging lol...keep the exhaust quiet and put a cutout on it

It's a few lbs. lighter than the T/A, depending on options. 1/4 mile times should be about the same, depending on transmission.
They're deinitely sleepers, not alot of people know what they are just assume they're V6's.
I love mine, I think it has a very clean look and I also like that it's rarer than the T/A. IIRC they only made about 1300 Formula's in '00.

same HP as the non ram air T/A's and the official quarter specs were 13.6 I believe.

The formula is the v6 body with the v8 drivetrain. My gf has an '01 formula with leather, power seat, power windows, t-tops, 3.23 gears. I'm pretty sure you could get everything in a formula that you could have in a trans am.

Go for it! I just bought mine (2000 Formula) a few months ago. It is a blast to drive. First and second gear fishtails and 3rd gear tire chirps. At 20 mph you can punch it and light up the tires, oh yea! My youngest son loves it. It is a sleeper for sure. I like the cloth interior as well. I think all TA's came with leather. Either way you go, TA or Formula, you will not be dissapointed!
No matter where you are is where you are!

Does it have the T/A front and rear bumpers?
If it's just got the badges and the wing, someone probably started converting it at one point.
If it's got the T/A bumpers too, it's probably a T/A. I beleive if you do a VIN search on these cars the T/A's and Formulas come up the same.
And alot of the time Autotrader and other dealer sites list them as "Trans Am Formulas".
And not all T/A's were WS6, so that doesn't really matter.
