frikin 02 nightmare
I finally got my a good computer(obd-2 etc etc) and found out due to my cats being nonexistant i have 8 codes. all 02 sensor related.. Ill probably get it tuned out or get simulators but what the heck is the giant square thing comming directly off the drivers side manifold?? I was told all cats were cut off.. and i can see only one missing... so what the crap is the giant square metal box???

After changing the plugs I figure its gonna be a straight running SOB to change the headers so Ill just put headers on when i drop another engine in. But if it is a cat im gonna cut it off and have it done correctly... anyone ???

Sounds like the stock cat bolted right up to the manifold. Maybe it was gutted which is why some of the codes are popping up. Are there even rear O2's in the exhaust anymore or were they removed?

They are long gone... the right exhaust has a test pipe welded in place... but thats the only mods to it other than the muffler and tips... and how the heck do you get rid of the EGR system completely!@

I planned on getting it tuned if I get rid of the EGR....do sims really work tho?

yes...and then they end up malfunctioning through heat...you can't beat it ...heats everywhere..so you might as well tune it out... get new front o2s if needed..

Alright.. So im ordering blockoff plates... ordering gaskets... etc. Hopefully in a couple of months ill have this completed. I want to rid myself of that cat shell.. (haha) as well..Ive been told by multiple people that when it downshifts and baffles that it shoots a blue flame out.. cool as hell .. but its a WTF to me. Working 50-60 hours a week on second shift kills a lot of time to do stuff...
