Ram Air Hood Baffle
I have an 02 TA and behind the honeycomb ram air inlets there is a part that blocks the air from directly entering the air box. Does any one know how to remove this part and are there any benefits to removing it???

If you use your T/A as a DD then i wouldn't recommend debaffling the hood but the benefits are more direct airflow to the air box, very slight decrease in engine temp and maybe a bit better throttle response. I did it on mine and those were my results. The way i did it is drill off the heads of the rivets holding the baffles in. The rear one comes out no prob but the front ones are glued in as well. For the front two i took out the honeycomb grills and took a rag and a rubber mallet (anything similar will work) and but the rag in front of the baffle in one of the corners, took the mallet and put the end of the handle against the rag and gave a few good hard taps with my hand on the head of the mallet and the glue gave way pretty easily. Just repeat for all the corners of the baffles. There are other ways of doing this of course but i found this way extremely easier and less dangerous to the paint as others i have heard. Sorry for the long post but hopefully that will be helpful to you.
EDIT: oh and if you do this get a K&N filter. Also i have driven in very light rain and wet roads after doing this and there was almost no water in the air box. I definitely wouldnt want to get caught in heavy rain with it or with out for that matter.

I put my Debaffled hood on back in `99 and drive it every day with no water in intake problems.
