i have a garage so i dont worry about parking, but people who talk about unwritten laws of parking so they can park in front of their own house are full of shit. public streets are just that, public, not private.
the neighbors pay taxes for the public street also, it doesnt matter if a person likes them or not.

the guy across the street from me will not park in front of his house-only mine. I have a work vehicle and i like to park in front of my own house. It doesnt bother me where he parks but he parks in the middle not at one end or the other. otherwise i wouldnt care
I can relate, it is irritating. but it hasnt escalated and probably never will.

I live in a downtownish area where no one has a garage and I don't agree with that at all. There shouldn't have to be a written law for people to follow common courtesy and to be respectful of other people. Everyone on my street has enough room to park 3 cars in front of their house...and that's what everyone does. If somone has more then 3 cars then they should be the ones doing the walking.
That guy sounds like an ass to me, especially because of the parking in the middle...I hate that. Most people that are worth a damn are generally aware of how their actions will make people feel...and in turn don't do shit like that. You should have a friendly chat with the guy and see where he stands.

Just start parking infront of their driveway. Or get a friend and yourself and block them in on the street by parking real close at each end. They should get the message pretty soon.

so where is the update on the parking situation
?
some people really just have nothing better to do than to start small neighborhood arguments over stupid shit.
Here is an example of the BS my father went through with one of his neighbors. My parents have been in the same house for 24 years and my father is an owner operator truck driver so he brings his truck home with him (sometimes with the trailer) so when they were looking for the house they bought, they checked the ordinances and it was legal to park it on his property. The house they have is on about 1 acre with a driveway big enough to parg the truck with a 40' trailer an d still room for alll the cars. nobody ever complained for over ten years. then the neighbor on the driveway side retired (he was living there for years). as soon as he retired the complaints started. He claimed it was too noisy. my father always idled out of the neighborhood, i rarely ever heard a thing and my room was closest to the driveway. The neighbors house is over 100' from the driveway. No amount of talking to him would help. neighboreventually went to county to try and get trucks banned from the neighborhood. my father then started parking a few blocks away in front of a commercial business (it was ok with them). the only time the truck came to the house was when he would stop by real quick for something or in the area and stop for lunch and he would park in front of the our house. neighbor apparently did not like this either and got the county to declarre the front of our house a no parking area. the only fucking house in the neighborhood with no parking signs from one end of our property to the other WTF. now because this guy was retred and had nothing better to do than work the system against us, he would never be happy. a few years later the old crackpot shot his wife and kid then turned the gun on himself. now my father is back to parking in the driveway again with no complaints and pulled the no parking signs from in front of the house and they have not been replaced since. Be carefull which neighbor fights you want to pursue because you never know what kind of crackpot neighbor you have and how much time they have on their hands.

SOM- 2002 FireHawk
After reading this it reminded me of an incident I observed when I lived in Detroit back in the mid 80's. Detroit in those days did not plow the residencial streets, so you can imagine the ruts that build up after a large snow storm. At any rate most people in the hood I resided in did not have driveways, very common. So everyone had to park in the street, and most parked directly in front of thier homes. Well to park in front of you home you would shovel out your own parking spot, some put chairs or other items to "stake claim" to the spot they cleaned out and parked. Well this little old lady shoveled out her spot and later left to get groceries. You guessed it someone parked in her spot and she had to park a block away in an unshoveled spot and tote her groceries home. When she got home after putting her purchases inside her home she got her garden hose out. Hook it up and proceeded to spray water on the car that had taken her spot.
Funnies shit you ever saw. When she was done the car was a block of ice, welded to the street. That car sat there for 24 hrs then a tow truck was called and they had a hell of a time pulling the car out. Would have loved to have had a video camera back then.
Just thought I would bring this up and it relates to this topic.

You guys need to remember where this is coming from!!
If you didn't catch what he posted in the thread about man freed after 26 year BS prison term of which he was TOTALLY innocent.
" Innocent of the crime, yes, innocent, not by far. The fact he was even connectable to the rape, or found to be a suspect shows he is not a good person. He would have committed some crime in that 27 years anyways. So lets just grant him time on a future crime instead of paying him. "

So you tell me.........I heard the term grow up and where are you from look at his response on this post...... I would say don't waste your breath!
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!
