LT1 crate engines?
Does anyone besides Golen or Lingenfelter offer ready to go crate engines for the LT1? Seems they are gone from the GM lineup, and need more viable options. Thanks.

Blazen Orange Metallic- 2006 GTO
More viable options? LS1s, LS2s, LS3, LS6, LS7, LS9?

Nope,,,,a swap like that is a pain in the ass. It's just a driver for my wife, and I already have an LS1 car anyway. All I am interested in is a fresh crate motor to keep this thing dependable for my wife since the mileage is getting to the point I need to start thinking about it.

I lean more towards a crate motor swap just for the simple reason that I don't want the car apart for a long period of time. I can do the motor swap over a weekend.

Okay to help answer,,,,a V6 wouldn't be an option,,,,my wife actually loves driving a performance vehicle and this car fits the bill for her. We are V8 people all the way,,,even our daily cars.
The lowest end LT1 Golen sells is a $4300 LT1 long block, a 355 with a cam similar to the hot cam, a slight bump in compression, and mild pocket port heads,,,,,this is nearly exactly what I am looking for,,,,don't need a stroker,,,and don't need anything too radical. This engine would fit the bill pretty well. Perform well and keep my wife happy. Price doesn't seem horrifying,,,as rebuilding my own would get me close to that figure anyway with the way I like to do things.
What I should be asking is what other facilities sell a long block crate engine that would be similar,,,,I googled the heck out of it and don't really come up with much.

Let me dig around and see what I can find. I would look at doing an LT4 set up. Still dependable and made nice HP.

This place can get you what you want. Even though they dont have it listed you can just email them or call for a price qoute on what you want. I was looking for a ls1 and they were the best price I could find. No core required.http://www.lowcostengines.com/performanceengines.htm
