I can't vote in the poll, but I'm 23. I wouldn't have my car if it weren't for someone else blessing me with it. However, I've been a Pontiac man my whole life, with my first car being a '75 LeMans SC w/ an H.O. 455. I've owned three other LeMans' but none near as powerful as my first.

Long Story
I'm 53. I had a 62 vette in the 70's. Then I discovered motorcycles. My last ride was an 05 R1 220 hp/350 lbs. I got smoked from behind on the highway April 06. I lost control of my bike and hit a dump truck that was doing 70 mph. I lost my left leg above the knee. When I got out of the hospital I was devastated over not only losing a leg but also the ability to ride. It was too much. I longed for something to ease the pain. Then one day in Feb. 07 I was looking for another vette......then I saw her.......a red convertible WS6!!!!!!! It was even a 4 auto (no clutch foot). I have never enjoyed a car as much in my life. I don't dream of bikes as much anymore. This car has helped me get through a very difficult time. Long live The Bird!!!!!!!!!!!

I qppreciate your sympathy. It is sad but that's life. I knew the risks. I am happy to still be here for my wife and son. Every day is a gift. I don't feel sorry for myself and don't want anybody else to feel sorry for me. I have an awesome life and a really cool car. OK OK if anybody realluy wants to feel sorry for me let it be about me living in Canada
and have to store my car for the winter!!!!!!!!!

Thanks
I am truly blessed and very happy to be here. I think my life has improved since I lost my leg. I have a new appreciation for life. Today a friend of mine and I crashed a pre boxing show at local casino. Walked right in, sat in the front row 3 feet from the podium.......got lots of pictures of the guest speaker......Smokin Joe Frazier!!!!!!!!! My buddy even brought a pair of boxing gloves...one each. After the press conference we got personal pics of each of us with Joe and he autographed both of the boxing gloves!!!!!

Great to hear that you have found a new appreciation for life... some of these youngins' today would be smart to do that as well!
At least being in Canada you have excellent health care! Just watched Sicko... man, as if I didn't already know how bad it was...

Joe
He's getting on but still pretty sharp, in great shape, and full of piss and vinegar! He told the heavyweights at the press conference,(jokingly), he ain't afraid of them and if they want a whuppin............
I'm going back to the casino in a few hours to try to get a ticket for the fights. They're sold out. I have another boxing glove for Joe to sign after the fights@ 10:00 pm in the lobby. My buddy got a great shot of me with Joe. That is going to look amazing blown up, framed with a pair of signed Everlasts hanging over it!!!!!http://www.ls1.com/forums/attachment...1&d=1198980006 Here we are. I made it into the fights last night. My buddy and I got ringside for the last three fights. It was pretty cool!!!

Thanks
I run a foster home for high risk teen boys.
They have no idea but I keep trying. You are absolutely right about the health care here. I haven't paid dime one for roughly $50,000 worth of post hospital care and equipment.I even got them to build me a SCUBA leg so I can fully enjoy my trips to the Mayan Riviera
