I ran that way because my muffler weld broke. Really Really LOUD! I liked how it sounded at high RPMs. It sounded like a NASCAR at 5000 rpms. But it was to damn loud. You cant even start it up without being loud.

I'm currently running manifolds, cats, and straights, and I love it. It's louder, but still smooth at low RPM. When you punch it, it sounds like a beast.

And by the way, anyone looking for a Dynomax muffler? I'm selling mine... only had it on for about 300 miles. 3" inlet and outlets. I took it off when I realized my state really doesn't give a crap about emissions, but I'm sure it would be awesome for a car that has long tubes with or without cats.

I have heard cars that have a h/c and some other work done to the motor with the lt's, ory and straight pipes and they sounded good. I think it might just be a stock motor with that set up sounds like crap.

i'm sorry but i think open manifolds sound like boats. very lame. manifold stink. open headers sound wicked.

i had that setup for a night, on accident, i was about 2 hours from home and my catback.....fell off......so i jimmy rigged it with bungee cords and limped home, but it sounded awesome for that 2 hours.....i would guess it would get annoying soon....

That's a matter of opinion. (Whether cats are used or not makes a big difference too.) I used to love the sound, but have grown to hate it as I've gotten older. Sounds like crap to me now. I like the sound of true duals, with a moderate volume low rumble at idle, loud but with no rasp at WOT, and no interior drone now.
I suggest finding some sound clips to form your own opinion. Maybe someone around here has one?2002 WS6 Trans Am, A4, SLP lid, P&P TB, 3500 stall, 24K GVW tranny cooler, HPTuners, Pacesetter LTs, Bassani dual exhaust with 'x' crossover, coolant bypass, sealed airbox to hood.

I'm running manifolds, cats, and straight pipes (some jackass ricer hit my pipes and bent everything past the rear)....anyways sounds good for the most part however i hate the rasp sound when i jump on it. I did have a magnaflow on it and i loved it...got lots of compliments too.
