That's not the correct OPSU. Yes it is an issue. You may not be able to thread it down far enough and get leaks.
Anti-seize on the threads.

I know this is an old thread, but what is the size of the special socket tool to install the OPSU. I have read on other posts a 32mm socket....that seems WAY too big...

Thanks Scott. I'll try not to bother you so much....looks like you are challenged for time...Oh, and I know about the little wifey feeling ignored because I'm out in my garage paying attention to the other babe in my life...and I thought I was the only one getting razzed all the time for working on her so much!!! Love the build you are doing!

Ok, I saw you mentioned using anti-seize on the OPSU. How about when torquing down the intake manifold bolts to the whopping 89 in/lbs? Thread locker or anti-seize?

That's inch lbs not foot lbs. 89 is about 7 ft lbs
I never use anti-seize on the OPSU, I wouldn't be against some oil on the thread though. Not sure where or why I would say that.
Here's a thread on the tq specs for LS1.

I will file that one. Thanks! So, you wouldn't use anything on the intake manifold bolts?

I use anti-seize on plugs, bolts that will see heat cycles, or when you have aluminum and steel combo.

I'll also add that starting today I'll be adding it to wheel studs as wheel.
Also if you have rotors that stick to hubs, I've done that too.

Funny you say that. I had to pound my left rear rotor to get it off. From that point on, I put a light coat of PB Blaster with a rag to keep it from rusting and stay lubed. More good info! Thanks man!

Cool, thanks man! No problem, but when you think about it, the OPSU does go through multiple heat cycles, and is mated from steel to aluminum. Anti-seize probably would not hurt. Those are my auto parts stores of choice as well. Thanks again!
