I bought a set of Mickey Thompson Street Drag Tires and went to the quarter mile at Muncie.
last time on street tires(nittos) I ran right around 13.5 all four passes, keep in mind my motors stock with a few mods and a Tune.
I made three passes with
the Drag Slicks, those are the three on top. The Car was biting really hard off the line so I put my street tires back on and made two more passes, the ones on the bottom. I was expecting to see more gains than a 1/4 second with Slicks and was even more surprised at how the Nittos did. With the Slicks I lost some Rpm's when they bit, on the Nittos they Spun off the line and little the motor build more Rpm's, then when they hooked it felt faster. Both sets of tires yielded the same results. 13.297, 13.252, 13.333, 13.280, 13.332
if nothing else my Car is Very Consistant!

I read your post a couple of years ago about the build and all the fab work you did. Man that's incredible and I'm more than a little jealous!!! I just finished reading the posts and saw how far it's come! Just like McDonald's, "I'm Loving It".
One question, though, could you have modified the shaft rather than the cutting the body? It doesn't seem outta proportion but wouldn't that have been easier?

Hey, what ever happened to these? I got a 92 Z34 and wanted to go more ponies but the trans is the weak link. Just saying, you got(had) 2 poss upgrades... Even if selling one isn't an option, which worked for you and what was build like. trying to learn from your experiences.

Hi Jamal,
Sorry I've been very busy and not been here in a while.
Looking back I would have still shortened the Lumina Body. The WS6 handles very well and with the Lumina unibody stiffening it up more I've had tons of fun and a Very reliable car. The rear quarters are where I would have made my change, I would have cut them next to the door instead of the Middle of the panel.
It's hard to believe I started this 7 years ago, My paints getting sore and a Makeover is coming.Joe

It's been a great Summer and we've enjoyed the Lumina a lot.
My most recent improvements are having the Windows tinted.
the Last picture is my Favorite from this Summer.

Past Summer was Great, I went a personal best of 12.65@116mph.
Popped a Head Gasket after upgrade to 799's and a Big Cam with 1.7 Rockers, this picture was that pass.
Car got changed up a little over the Summer, the Wing is gone and got a partial wrap.
