That's funny. Our XE simply cannot be described with that acronym though -- best handling car I have ever owned.

Getting nowhere fast with the glazing wire, even now
it is mounted in a bow saw frame.... However....
I had a blinding flash of inspiration today. Use a very narrow, probably fine TPI bandsaw blade!!
Flexy enough to conform to the funny bend you have to put in it to avoid the fiberglass flanges, and
.... it would have teeth!!! What can go wrong??

Well...
Bandsaw blade arrived... Fitted it into the bow saw and proceeded to get busy with it.
Epic fail!!! I managed to saw my way to freedom towards the outside and i stopped in my tracks
when i saw a cut coming through the sail panel triangle spot, FROM THE INSIDE!!!!!
Goddamit. Took a breath, had a good cuss (it is easily put right with a layer of glass from the
underside.
I have now ordered one of those hunting type wire saws that are supposed to go through 4" logs
and bone and all of that.
The people who reckon this is do-able in 2 hours are high on crack! ( IMHO)!

What's the air temp there? It could be it's just too cold to cut thru the glue.

Scott..
Good thought but i am indoors in a pretty well heated workshop along with a jury
rigged hot air gun aimed at the area to warm the whole thing through while
i am giving it some!!
Jeff.. You have it made!! I think i am right in saying you have a new one where you never
had to do this nonsense to remove a fitted one??!! All you will have to do is get busy and remove
the bubbled one?!
Hunting saw is on it's way.... watch this space!

Yes, mine is new. But I still have to remove the old one and that does not sound like much fun.

I thought "Santa" was out of country for awhile. Do her elves know of this wonderful gift?

Santa made the mistake of telling me to order them as she was leaving. They were ordered 5 mins of the gate closing
The Elves know better then to harass me, otherwise their stuff turns to coal
But in all seriousness I had to test fit them as soon as they came in, cause Racestar was worried they wouldn't clear. Seems they've had some complaints on clearance. I can't see how, my front brake setup is current with the C5 calibers. But these were made for Corvettes and GTO's, maybe the issue was with the F Body back spacing

I'll be doing the oil/filter and fuel filter today. Probably a wash and a detail too... unless it rains.

We were shocked at how green everything was out there last month. Not accustomed to seeing color in the mountains during our trips out.
