Thanks. It did need some attention when we started on it. Still a few issues to address like the fuel gauge that is acting up... again.

The Regal got some attention at the cruise in last night. Every time I looked over at it, there were 2 or 3 people gawking under the hood and pointing at stuff.

None of that, thank goodness.

Late last year, the Regal started squeaking upon start up. It would subside after the engine warmed up a bit so not a huge concern. Finally got around to diagnosing it Monday evening. With my stethoscope it sounded like the tensioner pulley was the source and upon removal of the belt and pulley I can hear a bit of a rattle when I spin it by hand. Fortunately, the 'Zone carries AC Delco pulleys and for $24.99 I sourced a steel replacement with a 2 yr. warranty. Only difference is that the new one does not have raised edges, but since this is a serpentine belt system and you cannot see the pulley behind all the plumbing, it's not a big deal.

My meeting ran long last night so it wasn't until this morning that I was able to go out to the garage. The replacement pulley absolutely looks different, but fit perfectly. I had a heck of a time trying to figure out a way to hold the tensioner arm in place while I tightened the pulley bolt. Ended up using a 3" extension and an allen head socket wedged between the water pump housing and the tensioner arm. Not an ideal solution, but it worked just fine.
