Having just a bit of a legal background I will say this... it is only illegal if you get caught.

Doesn't Jersey have those safety inspections? The right side of the country has gotten just as crazy as the left side.

Jersey did away with safety inspections a few years ago. All the inspectors do, now, is connect a computer to your OBD port. No SES light/codes...see ya next year, if not, two years. I know people who HAVE deleted their mufflers/cats and they pay for a sticker.
extreme dimensions, driveshaft shop, harrop, hid(35watt/6k) lows, hurst, k&n, led fogs, maverick man, mishimoto, nitto, revshift, slp, stern st-1, smoked sidemarkers, whiteline poly radius rod bushings

I was talking about the inspections that don't have anything to do with emissions. Not the sniffer or the OBD checks. I'm talking about the yearly or bi-yearly checks of safety equipment. I know California still does this occasionally, even at random when you're pulled over for a traffic violation, looking for something else to nab you with.
