The worst thing possible.
I was sitting in my car, flashing a new tune variation onto the PCM with the laptop power supply plugged into the power inverter just in case when all of a sudden, about 2/3 the way through the 'write entire' hptuners process I completely lost power to the laptop - which promptly died. The battery icon was FULL! it should definitely not have died, but I don't have the balls to start the car. The idiot lights are all still on. The laptop's acting fried, showing a STOP error screen and not booting up! HELP!!!

Try rebooting the laptop and re flash the tune, it should recover. Good luck.
I had a similar thing happen to me but my usb port went intermittent on me and killed the pcm. After I got the usb issue settled, I just reflashed the pcm and all was ok. I was using EFILive though.98 Trans Am, A4, 3.73, 3200 Vigilante, LCA's, reloc brackets, sfc's, panhard bar, adjustable torque arm, XS long tube headers, ORY, SLP CNC ported heads and all the free mods tuned with EFILive.

That sucks ass. I just recently fried my PCM with HyperCraper. My battery died in the middle of the flash. I had to have my car towed to the dealer. They charged me 80 Bucks to flash it to the newest version.

why are you doing a "write entire"? You should just be writing the calibration. Lucky you were able to recover it.

Glad this story had a happy ending.

for future refernece, you only need to do a write recalibration when making changes to the file. a write entire is when you want to completely rewrite a PCM. ie you buy another PCM and want to match yours.
