JL W6 in Stealth Box
Has anyone put a JL 10" W6 in a driver's side stealth box for a Camaro/Firebird?

I am sure it would fit I added a 3/4" mdf plate to my box and put in an 8" W7.

What are you asking about? Airspace? Will it hold up? ????
I have a 1,200 watt 10" Orion DVC sub in a MTX stealth box and it holds up just fine. I didn't think it would tollerate a sub with a 4 inch excursion but it doesn't even faze it!

how do you know how much airspace the sub needs? i'm looking at the Alpine Type X, but I don't know if it will work in the stealth enclosure or if the lack of airspace would blow it.

The sub hits really hard! Its a 1,200 watt 10" DVC Orion sub powered by an Orion Beast, true 1,000 watt amp! Suprisingly, the MTX box is holding up very well considering that the meterial is very thin. I do not seeing it being an issue holding up in the long run for years to come.

The Type X will fit in the box, with about .9 inches to spare in the back, but I believe the sub requires .63 cu ft of airspace and the stealth enclosure gives it only .6 cu ft....is that .03 going to make a huge difference?

Have you test fitted the type x? Just because the mounting depth of the type x is 8 5/8" and the stealth box is 9" deep doesn't mean it will fit. The magnet may be too big to be fully seated in the box, just let me know if you have test fitted the type x in a driver's side stealth box. I have 2 type r's in my other Firebird and I wanted to get a type x for my ws6 but didn't think it would fit.

When I bought my Type X, I was shipped a 12" instead. After looking at the sub, I did some "test fitting" and the only part that wouldn't fit in there is the cone part of the sub because it was 12" instead of 10". I'll probably be buying a 10" this week and if it doesn't fit, I'll sell it and find something else. But I will let you know hopefully by next Monday.

I've ordered the Type X, but the guy won't ship until Thursday. I should have it hopefully Monday, and I will let everyone know how it goes.

That's cool, I was just thinking you might have forgotten to follow up or something like that.
