Gonna go for a SS Vert. OPINIONS please!
About to pull the trigger on a '00 SS M6 triple black vert with leather and only 35K miles. No mods. Should I do at $16K. NADA and KBB say around $15K. I would hope it would hold it's value due to M6 and color. Always wanted one, is now the time?
Thanks,
Jack

1. Make sure it is a real SS (VIN)
2. Assuming you did all the normal checks yourself?
3. Taken it to a dealer you know & trust for a look?
4. Carfax
If all these check out, fuck yeah pull the trigger. Oh and don't be afraid of some friendly negotiations. It sounds like a nice car, so you don't have to low ball etc.

if its at a dealer they will do the carfax for free the first time and if you dont buy it they will just keep that on record for next buyer,
but a early pre-welcome to the site

Red- 2000 SS
Sounds like a good deal to me. I paid $19.5k for my 2000 with 10k on it. Dealer wouldn't come down and it is a nice car so I said fuck it and bought it. Around here they are few and far between.

It will hold some value simply due to it being an SS convertable. Black really won't affect that,,,,as most were produced either black or red anyway. Don't believe the 6 speed really adds value to the car either. Both of these are really in the eye of the beholder.
As far as value, that usually reflects on the rarity of the particular car, then options stem from that. Production numbers are out there now for all the model years I believe and broken down. T-top verses convertable, colors, transmissions, and many other options if you really want to find out how rare the car is. But I am willing to bet that black and 6 speed put it in a much larger group.
Never the less, sounds like a good buy, and any convertable SS is going to hold some value in the coming years. Goodluck with the new purchase.
