    ebay autobid/sniper websites...

I'm looking into some of those websites that autobid and snipe auctions for you for I'm not always around when the auction ends and I like to bid right towards the end to try not to bid up the item in advance.

I'm curiuos if there was any sites that you prefer to use. I've done some google searchs on this but I don't know which ones are good, can be trusted etc...

Anybody got any that they have used?

    Thanks!

    Ted

Anybody got any snipers/autobid programs they like?

Wow, I just noticed it says I have 1 post, must have lost the post count from way back. I use to have like 2500 posts, gotta love working the night shift back in the day and surfing the AAG section! :-)

There are ones you can run on your computer but the ones I'm interested in are the ones where you go onto a website and put the info in and they have their servers with fast connections to the net do the bidding for you and you set the time left in the auction when you want it to bid. Just curious if anybody has used them to know which one to trust for you have to put your ebay userid and password onto the site so that they can go and bid on it as you.

    sounds risky to me...

besides, that idea urks me; if you can't find the time to get on last second, you shouldn't get the chance to sneak in a last second bid!

It sounds risky to me as well but if they are a trusted site they are a trusted site.

What if it's 3 AM and you get up at 5:30 AM... you basically place the proxy bid and hope for the best but if you snipe it at the end you might be able to get a better price, you know?

I've been using esnipe.com for the last 5 years at least. I have not actually bid on an ebay item since I started using it. Have never had a problem and probably bought over 100 things using it.

I like it because it also checks the auction a few hours before, to see if your bid is still lower than the current bid. then it lets you know that it won't even bid unless you raise it.

Then, about 6 seconds before the end of the auction, it drops your bid in. I win about 75% of what I really want, and if I don't win it, somebody else will probably be selling it eventually. The nice thing is that I set my max price and don't get caught up in the auction. Most of the time I win well below my max price.

This is mainly set up for items typically under a few hundred bucks. Set it, and forget it.

I've been using Bidslammer.com for three years now, works great. Plus, they have a promotion right now. If you sign up, you get three free snipes!
