He put the Ford Explorer on the list because it popularized the SUV with soccer moms, which, he assumes, made vehicles like the H2 inevitable. And of course, don't forget, every H2 driver is "openly scornful of the common good" and feels nothing but "pure contempt for one's fellow man". Please.

I hated Soccer Mom's driving Explorers too but only because it ruined the old-school, off-road SUV and turned it into a mere high-riding car. It continued the path of the Land-Rover and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer but went a step further and removed almost all of the truck-ness.

Otherwise the Explorer was genius. The proof is in the sales. At the peak in '98 and '99, Ford was selling almost a half a million units a year.

That's an awful lot of really stupid people... out there buying one of the worst cars of all time...

you know, you almost forget how it used to be. Last weekend my brother and I were driving through town and this guy in his 50's pulls up next to us at a light in an old K5 blazer. It had a mild lift with some very nice sounding duals. I forgot just how sweet those were. Hell, I even miss the old full sized Bronco's.

Al Man the Yugo is on their. And I thought I was driving a cool car all this time. Now I no why people look and laugh!! Oh well at least its good on gas.
