Red/Silver/Black/Red- TA-G8-Expe-L200-Camaro
What we Think.....................
We all think it should be an actual Trans Am that takes the part...... but hell... does it really matter that much?
In the Transformer movie, I'm sure that Bug fans wanted Bumble Bee to be a VW as well... but it turned out he had a body of a Camaro.
Then again, why would you want Hasslehoff to be cruising in a TA anyways?
Just look, the new Challengers that are coming out reflected the retro bodytype...... but look what happen with the GTO..... Pontiac didn't reflect the body at all. Hell .... so that's that. No big Chitty!!!!!!!
The movie or the series won't do well.... unless the Mustang transform and boinks the Hoff in the ass in every episode!

Blazen Orange Metallic- 2006 GTO
They should have made it a C6 Z06. At least it still would have been a GM.

Logistically speaking, they could have easily used any 98-02 Trans Am/ WS6 if they had wanted. You don't have to have a NEW car to make a NEW show/movie.
Like someone said about Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky and Hutch. Both those vehicles had not been manufactured for over 20-30 years, but they were still used because the movies couldn't be made without them.
NBC could hav bought dozens of Black T/A's instead of taking 3 Mustangs from Ford. Having only 3 will limit what you can do with them. If you have dozens then you can jump, slide, stunt, race everything and not worry.
Even though I dislike the fact that they are using some riced out mustang (prolly voiced by Richard Simmons since it would fit) I don't think GM made any mistakes by not being a part of this.
GM made the BETTER choice by putting into the Most talked about and loved movie of the year, TRANSFORMERS. Why would they want to have their vehicles in some lowly "made for tv movie" that will probably have Meredith Baxter Birney as Bonnie. ahha
Let that abomination of a Mustang be the laughing fodder for the masses when the show hits the air and no one watches it.

You do have a point there... its just too bad that they will kill, in thousands of people minds, a legacy with this decision... but looking forward to Transformers 2 myself..

I think that this will not actually harm the legacy.
They already made two other abominations that most people don't even know happened.
Knight Rider 2010, which was also a Mustang, and Team Knight Rider which was all Ford vehicles done in a Power Ranger kinda style. Plus, I remember the Mustang in that one to be driven by a chick and have a really prissy voice, bwhhahhaha
the driver of the New KITT (Knight Industries THREE Thousand) is reported to be Michael Knight's son. Played by an actor from the Soap opera "All my Children", Justin Bruening. (Even the Hoff came from a Soap background) Will Arnett from Arrested Development and Blades of Glory will be the new Voice for kitt.
I don't see this doing well at all.

Yeah, 2010 most people dont know about... and TKR lasted one season... which most people also don't know anything about. So you might be right in that if it flops.. it will be forgotten like they were. Yeah, knew about David's background.. bought the Legacy book.. LOTS of good info in there! Just looked up Will Arnett cause name didn't ring a bell.. now it does.. and I dunno.. without them altering it.. I dont see it working well.
