Red- 1995 Trans Am 6 Speed
12:1 ratio gear box worth the upgrade cost?
What to get folks view on the following mod:
Hawk ThridGeneration has a 12:1 ratio gear box. Is this worth replacing my current box (1995 Trans Am) for everyday driving?
Here is the description of the box. It looks that the rest of the rack & pinon assembly would be reused.
"These boxes feature a quick ratio 12:1 ratio gearing and sport valving found in our race boxes but in an OEM style. We use OEM top covers and end caps and add an OEM-look finish. The perfect box for the restorer looking for a high performance box while retaining the original factory look."
Thougts on this folks? Worth the time and $$$ to upgrade?
Thank you.
