if the pistons in a 98 trans am come forged stock?

anyways i am a new member i own a pretty much stock 98 trans am with 80k miles now it has the after market ram air hood but i need to get a lid here soon i just blew my back tires from peeling and now i got goodrich radial t/a 295s and they grip very good

over the winter i hope to sink over 5-10k into the car hopefully new heads cam, chip, intake, 92m tb etc headers, exhaust etc nitrous and a supercharger if at all possible all that i can do without having to put turbo blue in it so i can stil race it down telegraph =) im only 18 so if i dont get it done in one winter its ok i got time

but i was just wondering what kinda pistons and rods come stock since no1 on google or any pontiac dealer seems to know

Welcome to the site. To answer your question, no, they don't come forged stock. I wish LS1's did, that would be sweet. Also, if you do all that, you might want to think about getting forged internals. Better to do it now, then when something breaks

But it will be even more work replacing an engine if you blow it up. But hey, its your choice.

just to change it out on a trans am with 80k miles on it thats rough stuff if i knew more about pulling the block that would be different but odds are imma have to have some1 do it which could get pricey

the best way is to drop the block out from the bottom... going through the top is hella nasty to do and not fun at all...

+1 on dropping out the bottom. Thats how it went in and out on my friends 2000 Z28. Best way

ya that mayb be what i have to do if either of u guys made it to the dream cruise on woodward it was crazy i saw a black trans am called nightmare he said he runs 8 seconds i would be happy with mid 10s but damn that car was soooooo sick i wish i had a picture

cars like that make me want to do the whole thing lol he took off and almost did a wheelie lol lifted his passenger tire lol
