clay barred and waxed the SS today!
I hadn't washed my car in over a month, and it was filthy. I really wish I took before pictures for a comparison. It hadn't been clay barred since late 2005 before I bought the car. I used Dawn dish soap to wash it, then used Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit. I'm really pleased with the results. It took me around 4 hours.

MAN NEVER USE LIQUID DISH SOAP!!!! Don't be a cheap-ass go buy some turtle wax or actual auto soap. Something other than dawn. Dish soap dries out the clear over time. Looks great though.

oh, I always use real car soap. I just used the dish soap to remove all the grime and the old wax. haha

I just tried Adam's Buttery Wax today, one of the best waxes I have ever used. I can show some pics once I get some taken, but very glossy and smooth.

1957 Chevy long bed. My dad got it when he was 17 and restored it about 10 years ago. It's going to be mine some day.
