Fender Flares
I've got an 05 GMC that I'm thinking about putting the flares on. Wasn't planning to use the OE type. The cheapies on Fleabay are around $130. They have clips around the inside of the fender well and double sided tape around the outside edge. I'm a little concerned about water, salt, dirt, etc. getting trapped beneath it and accelarating rust. I know it's not a water proof area and should dry out over time but I'm not so sure it would all drain through. I like the look and a little extra protection from door dings but I don't like mods that are actually bad for the vehicle.
Anyone with flares ever take theirs off after a couple of years? What did it look like underneath? Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA.I was here before the server crashed.

Red- 2006 Silverado
I like them they keep the truck cleaner, but the oem ones have poor fit, lots of large gaps so salt & dirt can get in them. I try and blast some water in them when I wash my truck. I suppose if you were that worried about it when you install aftermarket ones you could try & seal them with silicone.
