4k mile road trip
well took the 04 yellow gto on a long road trip it was the most comfortable trip i ever took the car ran beautiful. minus the front end shake between 45-60mph and strut rub in sharp turns. thank god average speed was 79mph also hit 140mph mark in florida all with no tickets.the a/c was ice cold however the blower on high makes you think you are in a wind tunnel very noisy.I only averaged 22mpg with the a4.I put a LeBra on before trip it was covered in millions of bugs glad i did it saved the paint. the car burned 2and a half quarts of oil however i read a bulletin about 1 quart consumption per 2000 miles being ok under normal conditions but i dont know for sure. car has a slight tick very faint but is always there mabey sticking lifter or bent pushrod i will look into that over this summer after i fix all front end with pedders. Just thought id post what i was up to for the past few weeks

great if gas didn't suck I would have liked to take a road trip back east, see what the rest of the country is like. With that ticking I have the same thing, they say its a bad trait that is normal for the car depending if you have an ls-1, or an ls-2. Also might be possible to silence it with a heavier oil, though I tried and nothing happened. Good luck please post me if you find out.

It is what you are supposed to use but I use 10w-30 the harder you drive the car the thicker you should go.

If it's on '04, the 'tick' is probably normal. The LS1's are noisy little bitches and like to make all kinds of racket.
