2004 Colorado Z71
I am looking at purchasing one of these guys, 4x4, with about 46K on it. Dealership is asking 12,995 on it.
Are there any issues or whatnot that I should be aware of with these? I read a bunch of consumer reports and it seemed like kind of mixed reviews with electrical issues and whatnot as well as several owners who love the truck.
It is extended cab with the half/suicide doors, cloth interior, automatic, it says it is a 5-cylinder inline, but I didn't know Chevy/GM did an I5 engine.
Do they handle well shitty weather? Ice? Snow? Off-Roading?
What are some good mods for these guys? Air intakes? Exhaust? Lifts?
The truck looks really nice and I really like the orange paint job on these guys.
Just curious about your input on these trucks.
Thanks in advance.

i just think it is silly to mod a motor like that. my cousin has an old 80's model s-10 with a 4.3 250,000 miles and he walked the dog on one of those colorado's. if i had 13,000.00 to spend on a truck i would definately sacrifice a few years and miles and get a silverado. i have a buddy that has a '97 z71 short bed reg. cab he has 270,000 on his and he has been anything but easy on that truck, all he has ever had to replace was starter and water pump, alternator. i personally have a '99 z71 150,000 and have never had a minutes trouble with anything on mine. resale will be higher on a silverado too.
