    hood insulation

Is there any reason you can not remove the insulation that is attached to the stock hood?

I would do some searching before removing it. If I recall correctly people had issues with heat (in the engine bay and in the cabin during summer) after removing them.

I removed mine and the fuel rail covers (heat traps) and haven't had any problems...

    Any reason to remove it.....................?

I hope your not thinking weight! A mere .10 of a second gain is achieved by reducing a 100lbs.

Also yes as thin as our hoods are I wouldn't take a chance of getting it heat warped.

The fuel rail covers are only there for a appearance and to aid in quiting down the injectors. The insulation is there for a purpose.

Mines not a DD. She only comes out on clear sunny days or evenings for a cruise or to rape the gear box. When I tuck her in for the evening I open the hood to let the engine compartment cool down...

I know exactly what you're talking about...

totally fine to remove, along with the seal along the back, keeps it way cooler under there.

Agreed. Insulation removal will reduce under hood temps. The hood paint will not scorch, and the engine compartment will be cooler. The insulation is actually there to hold in the heat during winter, as the air passes through the radiator, heats up, and passes through the engine compartment.
