Belt issues
I have no idea what's wrong with my car but it won't quit squeaking. I've replaced the water pump, tensioner, idler pulley, ac condenser belt, and the main belt. sometimes it's rediculously loud and sometimes i can't hear it at all. I want to just wait till the sound just goes away but the problem is deeper than that.
I put it on a dyno at a car show on saturday, he revved it to like 6 grand and when he put the clutch in after the end of the run there was a huge BAM! the belt had started to shred. The guy suspected the crank pulley was off balance.
well i took it to a shop to have it looked at (toyota dealership, but the guy used to work at a chevy dealership) and he said that everything looked okay... what do i do? Any ideas? What is the root of this evil

Might be your serpentine belt. I have the same problem with mine. It squeals anoyingly when you first start it for the first 15-30 minutes of driving, after that it's fine. It's mostly noticeable right now, early in the spring, come summer time I rarely have this problem at all. Must have something to do with cool damp weather.
I sprayed some belt dressing spray (don't use WD-40) on it and it helped muffle the sound a little, but it's still there at times. I though about replacing the whole belt, but it's still looks like new, and I'm not positive that's gonna cure the problem anyways.

Take off just the lower a/c belt and see what happens...I had a very similiar problem and it ended up being my lower a/c belt tensioner.

yeah man it is something that's come with the spring time, but my main issue is it shouldn't be doing that... and also remember that the belt was almost destroyed when the engine was under stress... that shouldn't happen... plus for me it never totally goes away.... i'll try the a/c thing, maybe it's another pulley in there somewhere but i dont imagine that because most of the noise is coming more from the driver's side area

a/c idler pulley...i bet you any kind of money that's where the noise is coming from.
