Black- 1998 Z28 Camaro
2005 6.0 LQ9 for sale
This is a 2005 model LQ9 6.0 that came from a wrecked Denali. It only has 22,000 miles on it and is almost like brand new. It features the desirable stronger cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads and has the larger drive by wire throttle body. Stock power is clearly underrated at 345 horsepower and the engine is totally complete from the denali with altenator, water pump, power steering, injectors, intake, sensors and wiring harness, manifolds its ready to drop into an fbody or whatever retro or current swap anyone could desire. These motors are great for boosted applications becuase of the extra strengh of the block and lower compression.
Price is $2950 plus shipping.
Have more detailed pics also that didn't go through, but if needed let me know and i'll retake.Last edited by BlwnCamaro; 10-04-2006 at 05:35 PM.

This is the rarer Lq9 6.0 that has aluminum heads with ls6 style exaust ports. Compression is 9.4 to 1.

This engine will fit the new ls7 style heads and intake with 40 pound injectors and 90mm tb complete that gm is selling for a super low deal now, cause it has the larger bore. Engine will be up for sale for about another week, if not will ge going into my 98 Z28.

Kinda reluctant to part out engine, but would sell short block, but can't take any less than $1650 plus shipping. Thanks

Black- 2000 T/A Firehawk
LS1 top half on 6.0 shortblock
Will a set of 98-00 LS1 heads bolt right up to the LQ9 shortblock and work as an entire assembly? Also, can I buy an LS1 intake manifold/TB and 98-00 factory .500"/.500" cam and put those on there and expect everything to work? I've been talking to a few buddies of mine as maybe starting on a 6.0L LQ9 and doing this, and it seems as though everything will work with the exception of maybe different injectors and having to drill a hole for the alternator bracket. Besides that would anything be different? I've done a search and have had no luck. I found a wrecked '99 Z that I'd like to put it in, once all my stuff is squared away here in the next few days to a week. Basically, I'd like to take the LQ9 shortblock, put 98-00 LS1 heads/intake & tb/cam and put it all together. Will this work with the factory 99-00 wiring harness and tune? This will basically determine the outcome of wether I'd be interested in it or not. Thanks
~Jonny

I thought all LQ9s had iron heads, and the LQ4s had the aluminums, no? Not that it makes a difference, nobody who swaps one is going to keep stock heads!
Bump for a great motor, my dream is a stroked 408 LQ9... just not yet I'm afraid...She's baaaaaccccck...
